About MandraRossa
The exceptional wines of MandaRossa are well worth exploring. Located in the Menfi and Terre Sicane territories, the dedicated vineyards are renowned for outstanding quality and innovation. The region boasts the ideal microclimate for viticulture as it offers many hours of sunshine, sea breezes and consistently mild temperatures. The multiple elevations of the countryside also contribute to the memorable flavours of the grapes.
Each MandraRossa wine is crafted for early drinking. However, the complexity and interest of the wines is always surprising. The quality of the grapes at harvest is guaranteed via analysis of sugar development, tannin ripeness and acidity levels.
The Nero d'Avola grape
Regarded as the most important red wine grape in Sicily, Nero d'Avola is an indigenous Italian variety named for the Southern Sicilian town of Avola. Delivering wines which are comparable to New World Shirazes, the grape features sweet tannins and plummy flavours. The Nero d'Avola vine favours the hot and dry climates of southern Sicily and produces wines with a rich ruby hue together with a warm yet slightly acidic taste.
