Over 40 years ago, in the 1980s, the first reported predictions of drastic climate change prompted us to start experimenting with new grape varieties, including Viognier and Petit Manseng. Today they are the two main grape varieties of the CASÒN Bianco. Petit Manseng is characterised by its loose-berried grape clusters and thick skins, making it particularly resistant to diseases and adverse weather conditions. In the case of Viognier, we have observed that this southern variety is developing its own special character in Alto Adige.
