Cold Town Beer draws its inspiration from Edinburgh's historic Calton Hill, once known as Caltoun or ‘Cold Town’. This area, revered for its brewing heritage since the 16th century, boasts excellent natural water and quality barley, making it an ideal location for beer making. Cold Beer craft this Pilsner in honour of the renowned Scottish rugby player Doddie Weir and his My Name’5 Foundation. After being diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease in 2017, he became a prominent advocate for MND awareness and research. This brew boasts a robust malty structure, citrusy zest, herbal nuances and a touch of floral elegance. Saaz, Lubelski, Summit and Hallertau Blanc hops create bags of flavour, while malted barley provides a structure. And it’s more than a beer, it’s a pledge to make a difference. With every purchase, a portion of proceeds goes to Doddie’s foundation, turning each sip into a small act of kindness.
