Wild fermented with a little Semillon, this wine is complex, textural and has more in common with great white Bordeaux than with typical Marlborough Sauvignon. The Legato single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc offers a refined and layered expression of the variety, opening with aromas of stone fruit, citrus curd and delicate white florals, alongside subtle hints of grapefruit pith, fennel and savoury complexity. The palate is textured and quietly powerful, built around a smooth, flowing mid-palate supported by fine acidity. A mineral and lightly saline edge carries through to a long, composed finish, making it a wine that rewards slow appreciation rather than immediate impact.
